The next SAT dates for students in Dubai and the UAE are November 7, 2026 (register by October 23) and December 5, 2026 (register by November 20). December 5 is the last SAT of 2026, so if you need scores for Regular Decision applications, these two dates are your final chances this year.

This guide covers every SAT date for 2026–27, the exact registration deadlines, how much the SAT costs in AED, which date suits your grade, and how to prepare in the time you have left. It is written by the SAT team at AEI Dubai, a KHDA-approved institute in Dubai Knowledge Park.

Quick answer: The SAT in the UAE is the same Digital SAT taken worldwide. It is held on Saturday mornings at approved schools across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Scores arrive about two weeks after test day.

SAT Test Dates in UAE 2026–27 (Full Schedule)

College Board publishes one SAT calendar for both U.S. and international students, so these dates apply in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. All deadlines close at 11:59 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time, which is around 8–9 a.m. the next morning in the UAE. Don't leave it to the last evening.

Spring 2027 deadlines usually fall about two weeks before each test. Always confirm your date and seat on the official College Board SAT dates page before you book, because test-centre availability in the UAE changes from date to date.

Are the August and September SAT dates available in the UAE?

This is one of the most confusing questions online, and different websites give different answers. College Board lists August and September as SAT Weekend dates for all students, but seats at UAE centres are often limited on those dates. The safest plan for UAE students is to treat October, November, December, March, May and June as your main dates, and check live seat availability in your College Board account if you want an August or September sitting.

Which SAT Date Should You Choose?

Pick the date that gives you at least 8–12 weeks of preparation and still leaves time for one retake before your university deadlines. Many students score higher on their second attempt, so plan for two sittings.

How to Register for the SAT in UAE (Step by Step)

Registration takes about 20 minutes online. Have your passport and a card ready before you start.

  1. Create a College Board account at collegeboard.org. Use your name exactly as it appears on your passport, or you may be turned away on test day.
  2. Upload a clear photo of your face. It is printed on your admission ticket.
  3. Choose your test date and a test centre in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah. Popular Dubai centres fill quickly, so register early.
  4. Download the Bluebook app on your laptop or tablet and complete the exam setup. This creates your admission ticket.
  5. No device? Request one from College Board at least 30 days before your test date.
  6. Print or save your admission ticket and bring your passport on test day. Tests start early on Saturday morning, so check your centre's arrival time.

Common mistakes UAE students make: a name mismatch with the passport, an unupdated Bluebook app on test morning, and forgetting a charger. Each one can cost you a test date.

The Digital SAT Format Explained

The Digital SAT takes 2 hours 14 minutes, has 98 questions, and is scored from 400 to 1600. You take it on the Bluebook app at an official test centre, never at home.

SectionQuestionsTimeScore range
Reading & Writing (2 modules)5464 minutes200–800
Break–10 minutes–
Math (2 modules)4470 minutes200–800
Total982 h 14 min (+ break)400–1600

The test is adaptive by section. How well you do in the first module decides whether your second module is easier or harder. A strong first module unlocks the harder module and a higher possible score, so accuracy early on matters most.

Three things make the Digital SAT easier than the old paper test: reading passages are short (one short passage per question), a Desmos graphing calculator is built in for all of Math, and scores come back in about two weeks.

What Is a Good SAT Score in 2026?

A good SAT score is any score at or above the middle range of the universities you are applying to. As a general guide:

Total scoreWhat it means
1450–1600Competitive for the most selective U.S. universities (Ivy League, top 20)
1300–1440Strong for selective universities in the U.S., UK, Canada and UAE
1150–1290Above average; opens many good universities and scholarships
1000–1140Around the average; meets the minimum at many universities

The best way to set your target is to look up the middle 50% SAT range of each university on your list, then aim for the top of that range. Many universities in the UAE also accept the SAT for admission and scholarships, so check their admission pages for exact requirements.

How to Prepare for the SAT in the Time You Have Left

Your plan depends on how many weeks you have before test day. Start every plan with one full Bluebook practice test to find your baseline score.

5 weeks left (November 7 test)

  • Week 1: Take a full Bluebook practice test. List your 3 weakest question types in each section.
  • Weeks 2–3: Spend 60–90 minutes a day on those weak areas only. Learn the Desmos shortcuts for Math.
  • Week 4: Take a second full practice test under real timing. Review every wrong answer.
  • Week 5: Light review, one final practice test early in the week, and rest before test day.

9 weeks left (December 5 test)

Follow the same steps, but spend 5–6 weeks on weak areas and take a full practice test every 10 days. This is enough time for most students to raise their score meaningfully.

5+ months left (March to June 2027)

Build the foundations first: grammar rules, vocabulary in context, algebra and data analysis. Then move to timed practice from about 8 weeks before your test.
